Actually the stock BT020's that came with my 06 didn't feel all that bad. I replaced them at 3.3K because I was going to the ESTN07 in Sparta, NC and wanted to make sure I didn't run out of rubber. I put on a new set of Avon Storms. They did handle very well except the front did have the hands off wobble issue. They were at the wear bars at 2.8k and I pulled them at about 3.2k. Won't be getting any more Storms. I put on a set of Shinko Ravens. $155 for the pair to the door, but they are up to about $180 now. I'm getting right on the wear bars at 4600 miles and probably could take it to the chords at around 5K, but my new one goes on Saturday. I rode these guys hard, they handle well wet or dry. If I were riding a Strada or Pilot Road or Z6 they would have been toast long time ago. I am hard on tires. You might see some squaring but it ain't much, you won't see any chicken strips. I'm not changing my front yet, but when I do I'm going to the slightly softer Shinko Podium because I believe it has a better tread pattern. I see some feathering (cupping whatever) but all tires cup and these aren't bad. Don't let people tell you these tires are crap. That's from people who have never tried them. I have come to the conclusion that an FJR will eat tires and thanks to my wife, I have a No-Mar changer which is almost a "gotta have" with the FJR.

06 recommended pressure is 39 psi.

Not only have I tried them but I also did a cross section to look at them. At ESTN07 a guy rolled from Canada on a new set of Storms and described two near death experiences attributed to front tire issues. There were two reports of premature holes in the rear tire complete with pics that "other" FJR forum. When I cross sectioned the rear, the inside was soft and there was one helluva lot of space between the chords. I was at the wear bars at 2.8K and took them off at about 3.2K. How guys get 7K I don't have a clue, they must measure quarter mile time with a calendar. I loved my Azaro's but the Storm blows, didn't somebody say that? Avon QC must be non-existent.
