I am getting ready to install my Spiegler and Wilber kits on my 05 ABS.
If Yamaha has applied some strong Locktite on the rotor mounting bolts, would I be advised to heat them, briefly, just to break the adhesive bond to avoid stripping the button heads? I don't intend to heat fatigue (or warp) any of the surrounding metal. Do you remove the front wheel before breaking them loose or after, (using the weight of the bike to plant the front wheel and keep it from turning while you undo the disc bolts)?
Has anyone of you bought those chic-chic titanium fasteners for replacements? If so, where do I buy them and what is the correct application(R-1, I believe, on an old WC thread)?
Has anyone reused the original fasteners, or are they delicate like those nylon windshield screws? (grrrrr)
I just don't want to be have into it and find myself needing some backordered item to finish off the project.
Thanks in advance for any help?
