Ok, for those of you who don't realize it, today is a FREE EXTRA DAY that only comes, what, every four years?! Hopefully you'll take advantage of it and spend it on your motorcycle!
On a personal note, my next older brother would have been 12 today. That's 48 in "normal" people years (kinda like dog years, only in reverse?). Regrettably my brother died from complications due to Diabetes before his 40th, err 10th, birthday. Even though he was blind and could barely walk toward the end of his life, I never saw him complain (no more than the rest of us anyway). He never had any self pity, and kept a wonderful quirky sense of humor. He was always working toward a "full life", even though he knew many years prior to his death that he wouldn't live an average life span. I think he did live a full life, leaving behind some wonderful memories (some we can't talk about on a g rated forum) and a caring family.
I miss my bother and his goofey sense of humor. More importantly, I'll count my blessings and be thankful for the life that I have. Today in particular, I take note of what I have been given and how very fortunate my life has been.
Life is short. Make every day count. Especially the extra bonus days!
Happy Leap Year!
