I was recently shocked to learn that I have prostate cancer. The good news is that it was detected early enough to hope for a complete cure. and I intend to beat it.
Further good news is that it appears that I am a candidate for about two months (mid-March through mid-May) of outpatient proton radiation therapy at Loma Linda University Hospital near San Bernadino, CA. I will temporarily move from Northern Virginia to Southern California. Because the side effects of proton treatment, as opposed to some of the other forms of radiation treatment, are predicted to be minimal, I'm planning to get in some riding; to that end I am shipping the FJR out to Chaparral Motorsports, which has graciously agreed to accept the bike's dropoff by Federal/Allied Van Lines.
So, depending on how well this treatment protocol goes, I hope to meet some of you SoCal riders on the road. Wish me luck!
