I'm considering taking my FJR to a beginners course at a race track later this year. I went and checked out the requirements of the Star School at Barber. They require full coverage leathers or an armoured riding suit or gear.
I'd rather buy one suit to cover my ass (literally) for "normal" riding and for track day. What are your experiences doing this? Anyone killed two birds with one stone successfully? I don't plan on racing, so spending a grand on leathers just doesn't make sense (but they do look cool!). Need recommendations on boots and gloves, too. Generally, guess I'm looking for recommendations to "gear up".
Any insights or experienced comments would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!
Matt
