I have been motorcycle camping for many years, off and on. Probably 1st year was 1969. I've even used a 10 X 10 canvas tarp, but I sure wouldn't consider that now.

Last few years I pulled pop up campers behind the bike. Great way to go. I have also used cargo trailers. Yes, I have pulled a large camper behind the fjr. No problem, but the trailer was a bit wiggly with all the weight on the hitch and the geometry of that particular trailer vs. the FJR.

So I am now building my own cargo trailer for better handling and performance. I like to travel 'large' when camping and take all the acuterments, such as electric heaters, fans, lights, etc. That's why I need a trailer.

I would recommend that you check out the online Coleman site to see what they have to offer. I plan on purchasing a Coleman tent before the start of the riding season next year. My trailer is mostly finished, except for a bit of tweeking. It cost me about $400 to build and I can hardly tell it's back there.

You can see my different trailers and bikes at this site:Bob's Pictures The trailer I am now building is just another version of the previous two kit trailers.
