Closed face helmet saved my face once (if not my life). If my actual face made that dent in my gas tank I doubt I would be typing now.

Arai and Shoei are both great, get the one that fits you the best (it's shape matches yours and no pressure points) and get the size that fits tightest without discomfort.

It's funny I was helping a friend shop and the helmet he though was the best shape for him was because it was a size too big, with the right (tight) size on, there was a pressure point that would drive him bonkers.

You need to get both things on, shape and size -both together. If the lid is too big, shape don't matter much and if the helmet is the right shape but too big...

Helmets break in big time -it is supposed to be a bit of a squeeze when new. Wear it like the designer jeans you wore in the 80's! Chipmunk cheeks are good, biting cheeks is bad. Or to use the jeans again, tightest pair that you can get into and still have two @ss cheeks in (sitting or walking normally optional). :)

Good luck.
