The control pad is not water proof, not even water resistant but it is easy to seal up. Many people install a master power switch, should the control pad have water intrusion it can cause a 'run away' condition and not respond to any buttons.

The big servo unit is very water resistant, just don't submerge it. Well, if it gets submerged then you have bigger problems than the CC.

I opened my control pad and sealed around the membrane switches, reassembled and sealed the seams and the wire hole in the back. My unit has seen heavy, pounding rain with no water leakage. You shouldn't be using the CC in any traction limited events or locations (rain, sand, gravel, etc).
