must admit... Not too impressed |

I purchased the 2008 FJR 1300 about 5 months ago. Black and silver, side bags, the whole deal. Having been a Suzuki rider for 35 yrs I was taken by the
beautiful FJR1300. This bike just doesn't do it for me. I am considering putting it up for sale. Has RPM ONE 48 month Warranty (don't know if
transferable) Balance due to financing is roughly $16,500.00 Current mileage is 3,446 and just did oil / filter change - second after the initial 600 miler.
Never riden in the rain and still looks like the day it rolled off showroom floor. Bike is in San Diego and I can get pictures for serious riders. Just thought
I would put it out there and see if there was any interest. Not quite ready for the Craigs list crowd and wanted to find someone that appreciates this bike.

You don't have the KAHUNA'S to handle this bike but it's OK.

you'll never sell it for the balance due since that's more than the price of a new bike.

$16,500 I'm sorry but that sounds high to me, even with all the frills

just got my fjr two days ago. it is simply the most fun i've had on a bike. only way to get more power is to by a crouch rocket. if you want a smoother
ride, buy a car.

Guys you can rent almost anything these days before you buy one, it;s not expensive at all and it's fun to try bikes. One of my best trips was a week on a
rental V-Strom in Oregon.

Whoa there little feller.....you are not impressed? Sorry to hear that. I purchased my 08 in March of 08 and just finished a 3000 mile trip on it and now
have about 28,000 miles on it. After owning many many bikes (Suzuki 1000's, Yamaha R1, Yamaha FZ1, Honda CBR 1000RR, Honda RC51, etc. etc.) I have come to
realize that riding the FJR is the best of all scenarios.....great handling, comfort, performance and very pleasing to the eye. My guess is that if you
weren't too impressed with the FJR, the FJR probably wasn't very impressed with the way your were riding it either. My opinion.....give it another
whirl but treat yourself to an extra dose of testosterone first. No offense here but the FJR just begs to be ridden robustly with vigor.....you might change
your rating after a re-test.

You can get a new 2008 out the door for like 13 grand, why would anybody contemplate spending 16 plus ? Charity, I don't think so...
Not impressed by your price, more so by the FJR though |

You are asking more than the MSRP.
My new '08 was $11,500 out the door. So, you may be able to get $10k....maybe. Don't park and drink, accidents cause people.

mrstugroe wrote: Sorry to hear that but, as others have said, you're under water with that price. No way it can be sold for what you're asking as it's about (conservatively) $4k more than new. So you're probably stuck with it for at least a little while. Might as well ride it and make the best of it.

Just what is it that you dont like about the bike? I got a new 09 and really didnt like it at first but the more miles i get on it the more i like it. Seems it
takes some time to adjust to this bike, but it really is a great ride

2008 FJR - Value | #15 | ||

You might not be impressed with the FJR - not every bike is for everyone. But, you better learn to like it with what you owe on it. I just bought a 2008 with
625 miles. Two Brothers Racing slip on's, PC III, Back Off brake light kit and the Y.E.S. extended warranty good thru March 2013. I paid $10,500.
I hope the give the FJR another chance - this time don't let the RPM's go below 4500-5000 and hold on. This machine does not like to be toyed with. It has a whole different attitude above 5,000. Give it a shot - it is a very cool bike to drive. I just got back from a trip to the Georgia mountains - I live in east central Florida (1,400 miles in three days) and even in the rain - lots of rain, this bike handled the twistys superbly and is very comfortable on the super slab. Give her another chance, I bet you will begin to love this bike. Good luck. |
